When you purchase cartridge heater, do you know which resistance wire is used?
Which kind is better?
In the electric cartridge heater manufacturing process, in China, the current cartridge heater resistance wire adopts two categories: nickel chrome wire and iron chrome aluminum wire.
We would like to explain the difference between nickel chrome wire and iron chrome aluminum wire:
1. Main advantages and disadvantages of iron chrome aluminum heating wire
Advantages:
High application temperature
The maximum temperature can up to 1400C, (0Cr21A16Nb, 0Cr27A17Mo2, etc.)
Longer lifetime
Higher surface load
Better oxidation resistance
Higher resistivity
Price is cheap and so on.
Disadvantages:
The high temperature strength is low.
Its plasticity increases when temperature increases .
The components are easy to deform, not easy to bend and repair.
2. Nickel-chrome heating wire main advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages:
Higher temperature strength than iron chrome aluminum,
Not easy to deform under high temperature.
The structure is not easy to change.
Better plasticity.
Easy to repair.
Higher emissivity,
Non-magnetic.
Good corrosion resistance.
Longer service life.
Disadvantages:
Higher price, due to nickel metal material is scarce, the cost of this series products are several times higher than iron and chromium aluminum,
Lower application temperature than iron chromium.
You can adopt the best kind resistance wire for your cartridge heater according to your application.
